Shark Tank star and the owner of the NBA team Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, says bitcoin is a good investment. The billionaire wants the price of the cryptocurrency to fall further so he can buy some more. Meanwhile, he insulted gold investors, calling them \u201cdumb as f***.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n Shark Tank star and the billionaire owner of the NBA team Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, shared his thoughts about bitcoin and gold in an episode of the \u201cClub Random\u201d podcast, hosted by comedian Bill Maher and scheduled to be aired Monday.<\/p>\n Maher said he is \u201cvery anti-bitcoin<\/a>\u201d and believes in the value of gold. Commenting on gold investing, the Dallas Mavericks owner opined<\/a>:<\/p>\n If you have gold, you\u2019re dumb as f***.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n The podcast host proceeded to argue that gold \u201cnever goes away\u201d and is \u201clike a hedge against everything else.\u201d Cuban replied:<\/p>\n No, but it\u2019s not a hedge against anything, right? What it is is the stored value and you don\u2019t own the physical gold, do you? \u2026 Gold is a stored value and so is bitcoin.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n \u201cWhen you own gold, all you own is a digital transaction. You don\u2019t own the gold bar,\u201d Cuban detailed, emphasizing that investors do not actually possess the actual gold. \u201cIf everything went to hell in a handbasket and you had a gold bar, you know what would happen? Someone would beat the f*** out of you or kill you and take your gold bar,\u201d the Shark Tank star warned.<\/p>\n Acknowledging Cuban\u2019s criticism of gold, Maher clarified, \u201cWe\u2019re not mostly in gold.\u201d Cuban responded: \u201cAnd that\u2019s fine. I\u2019m not mostly in bitcoin, right? It\u2019s just something I own.\u201d The Dallas Mavericks owner stressed: \u201cBut it\u2019s a digital transaction and it\u2019s a store of value \u2026 So, people perceive that there is a value associated with gold, and there\u2019s value associated with bitcoin.\u201d<\/p>\n While stating that bitcoin \u201cis a good investment,\u201d Cuban noted that he is \u201cnot telling people to buy\u201d the cryptocurrency. The Shark Tank star added:<\/p>\n I want bitcoin to go down a lot further so I can buy some more.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Cuban believes in cryptocurrency\u2019s potential despite the crypto winter and the collapse of crypto exchange FTX. He previously explained that the FTX fallout is not a failure in crypto<\/a>. While admitting that he does not know all the details, he said former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) should be worried about going to jail<\/a> for a very long time.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Cuban\u2019s Shark Tank co-star, Kevin O\u2019Leary, aka Mr. Wonderful, has insisted that SBF is one of the best traders in the crypto space and he will back him again<\/a> if he has another venture.
