This week, regional reports show citizens from El Salvador have taken to the streets to protest the bitcoin tender law.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Salvadoran Protestors Say Bitcoin Is \u2018Too Volatile\u2019 and Like \u2018Playing the Lottery\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>One might think from some of the fluffy reports stemming from a number of cryptocurrency magazines that all is swell in El Salvador in regard to the new bitcoin law. However, during the first week of July, a <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/majority-of-salvadorans-skeptical-of-btc-as-currency-poll-finds\/\">survey<\/a> conducted by Disruptiva polled 1,233 people residing in El Salvador and a majority of Salvadorans said they were skeptical of bitcoin as a currency. Following the implementation of the new bitcoin tender law, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/report-claims-nayib-bukeles-regime-may-issue-a-salvadoran-stablecoin\/\">leaked reports<\/a> claimed Nayib Bukele\u2019s government cohorts were planning to launch a stablecoin.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.news.bitcoin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/protestssss-300x104.jpg 300w, https:\/\/static.news.bitcoin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/protestssss-768x266.jpg 768w, https:\/\/static.news.bitcoin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/protestssss-1024x354.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.cryptocabaret.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/protestssss.jpg 1300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1300px) 100vw, 1300px\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-476930\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cryptocabaret.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/protestssss.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1300\" height=\"450\"><\/p>\n<p>Now a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ElMundoSV\/status\/1417507270515118081?s=20\">regional report<\/a> from the news outlet El Mundo shows a number of Salvadorans have taken to the streets to protest the bitcoin law. Marchers gathered together to speak out against Bukele\u2019s tender law and said the crypto asset was \u201ctoo volatile.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s also a resistance group called the \u201cPopular Resistance and Rebellion Block\u201d group, which has written a letter to Bukele\u2019s regime saying the law is unconstitutional. The group says bureaucrats under the control of Bukele did not consult the citizenry first and they stressed the president\u2019s move was akin to playing \u201cthe lottery.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Nayib Bukele Is Considered a \u2018Dictator\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Nayib Bukele is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/world-nation\/story\/2021-05-16\/nayib-bukele-the-most-popular-president-in-the-world-is-a-man-with-one-ideology-power\">considered<\/a> an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/article\/5dp84b\/el-salvadors-president-joked-about-being-a-dictator-now-he-has-absolute-power\">authoritarian leader<\/a> and recently <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nayibbukele\/status\/1416138069854539781?s=20\">mandated<\/a> that citizens must take Covid-19 vaccines, despite the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CryptoSivar\/status\/1416141028042608645?s=20\">pushback<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jessicamirella9\/status\/1416198429852766213?s=20\">against<\/a> the experimental drugs. Twenty government institutions linked to the Bukele administration were under investigation for manipulation and corruption. He then fired all those who were involved in the investigation. The news publication El Faro has also accused Bukele of secretly negotiating a deal with Mara Salvatrucha, the most powerful gang in El Salvador.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Bukele even tweeted about the removal and exclaimed the representatives had been \u201cdismissed.\u201d People believe the members were fired because the Supreme Court ruled a few times that Bukele made unconstitutional mistakes. The Salvadoran attorney general was investigating several of the Bukele regime\u2019s ministers.<\/p>\n<p>On May 4, U.S. vice president Kamala Harris spoke about the Salvadoran nation in a speech. \u201cJust this weekend, we learned that the Salvadoran parliament moved to undermine its nation\u2019s highest court. An independent judiciary is critical to a healthy democracy and a strong economy. On this front \u2014 on every front \u2014 we must respond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- growjs zone placement 31 --> <ins> <ins class=\"growjs-placement\"><\/ins> <\/ins> <!-- end of growjs zone placement --> <\/p>\n<h2>Resistance Group Says \u2018Bitcoin Serves the Elite and Ill-Gotten Money\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Protestors who dislike the new bitcoin law also believe Bukele\u2019s New Ideas Party is in the wrong. The Popular Resistance and Rebellion Block group stressed:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Bitcoin only serves some large businessmen, especially those linked to the government, to launder ill-gotten money.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While the supermajority in the Salvadoran congress passed the law, bitcoin (<a class=\"lar-automated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/markets.bitcoin.com\/crypto\/BTC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BTC<\/a>) won\u2019t officially be recognized until September 7, 2021. Protestors hope that in the interim, Salvadoran lawmakers will stop Bukele\u2019s New Ideas Party from successfully implementing the legislation. Meanwhile, a few Salvadorans disliked the group\u2019s protest and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dirtydreams69\/status\/1418713373081055233?s=20\">said<\/a>: \u201cHow can they be called resistance and rebellion?
